Coach Mahon is a 2013 graduate of Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, S.C.  After high school, Mahon played collegiately at Newberry College and Southern Wesleyan University. 

Mahon has coached at both the high school and collegiate levels.  He spent one year coaching outfielders at Southern Wesleyan University before joining Dale Nelson’s staff at Hillcrest High School in 2018.  He has spent the last 4 years as an assistant at Hillcrest coaching outfielders and assisting with the hitters.  Mahon was part of the 2021 Hillcrest staff that won the 5A state championship.

Mahon was the head coach of the Greenville Post 3 American Legion team from 2017-2020.  He was the 2017 League 7 Coach of the Year and the 2018 Upper State American Legion Coach of the Year.  This will be his second summer coaching in the Diamond Devils organization.
